Active Rehab

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, new patients will need to fill out the health intake form and consent form on the first visit. We advise you to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment. If you prefer to fill out the intake health form beforehand, just give us a call and we can email it to you. Once filled out, you can email it back or print it and bring it with you during your first appointment.

Will there be an exam or assessment at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, on the first session our practitioner will discuss any medical history that relates to your condition. The kinesiologist will examine the joints, muscles, and soft tissue to document strengths, weaknesses, range of motion and extent of the injury. This information will be used to create a treatment plan. Please wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and runners.

What types of exercises can I expect?

Every patient has their customized treatment plan depending on the type of injury. Our kinesiologist designs exercise programs related to performance, occupational health and safety, and lifestyle management. You will also receive at home exercises to complement your in clinic treatment sessions.[/toogle]How long will my first appointment take?

The initial appointment lasts from anywhere between 45 minutes to 60 minutes depending on severity of your injury.

How many sessions can I expect to have?

Results vary depending on the type and degree of your condition. Many clients notice an improvement as early as their initial appointment and see significant results when they combine their home exercises with regular appointments.

Our kinesiologist will discuss your treatment plan with you, and explain when you can expect to see results.

Acupuncture

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, you will need to fill out the health intake forms on your initial visit. Please arrive 15 mins before your scheduled appointment. If you prefer to fill out the intake health form beforehand, just give us a call and when we can email it to you. Once filled out, you can email it back or print it and bring it with you during your first appointment.

Will there be a physical exam at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, a full health history will be collected during the initial session. Questions regarding health and lifestyle and any active symptoms will be asked. Our acupuncturist may conduct a physical exam, including checking pulse and tongue.

How long will my first appointment take?

The initial visit will be 45 mins, which includes an exam and treatment.

How many sessions can I expect to have?

The number of sessions varies from person to person. Acute conditions are generally resolved in less time than chronic ones.

Active Release

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Active release technique is used by our chiropractors to break down scar tissue and adhesions. If you have already visited our chiropractor before, you do not need to fill out any paperwork. New clients will need to fill our chiropractic intake form, consent form and a few other forms. Please arrive 15 mins before your appointment.

How long will my appointment take?

Active release technique is most commonly used alongside with chiropractic adjustments. The full treatment usually lasts about 15 to 30 minutes.

Auto Accident Chiropractic

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, after an accident you will need to fill out paperwork describing your accident and injury details.

Does ICBC cover my sessions?

Patients with an open ICBC claim are pre-approved for 25 chiropractic, 25 physiotherapy, 12 Massage, 12 Active rehab and 12 Acupuncture sessions within first the 12 weeks of accident. Treatment past your pre-approval time period will need an approval from your ICBC adjuster.

Laser Therapy

Who provides laser therapy treatment?

Our chiropractor and physiotherapist provide laser therapy in our clinic.

Orthotics

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, you will need to fill out an intake form.

Will there be an exam at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Our chiropractor will run through the intake history with you and perform an examination. They will discuss your diagnosis and condition with you and a 3D GaitScan will be performed. The GaitScan system featuring TOG Client Software is an innovative diagnostic tool and digital casting device that allows Practitioners to analyze patient biomechanics and order custom orthotics.

How long will my first appointment take?

The appointment is approximately 30 minutes long.

How long will it take to get my orthotics?

We place an order as soon as you pay for the orthotics. Insurance companies do not pay our clinic, and pay the patient once paperwork is sent to them. It may take up to 10-14 days for us to receive your customised orthotics. We will give you a call to schedule a pick up and fitting appointment.

Massage Therapy

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, you will need to fill health intake forms on your initial visit. Please be advised to come 15 minutes before your scheduled time. If you prefer to fill out the intake health form beforehand, just give us a call and we can email it to you. Once filled out, you can email it back or print it and bring it with you during your first appointment.

Will there be an assessment done at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, our massage therapist will do a full assessment. It is important that you inform your massage therapist if you have any medical condition or are taking any medication. This information helps the therapist to create a treatment plan accordingly.

Do I need to be a chiropractic patient to get a massage?

No, it is your choice to decide what service you would like to go for.

How long is each massage session?

Our massage sessions are 30 minutes, 45 minutes and one hour long. The initial session needs to be either 45 minutes or an hour long as the therapist needs to do an assessment as well. We advise you to schedule the appointment type accordingly.

Do I need a doctor’s referral for this service?

We do not need a GP referral to provide massage therapy. Sometimes, extended health companies may need a referral to cover you for massage therapy. We advise you to check with your insurance company if you need a referral.

Physiotherapy

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, you will need to fill out intake forms on your initial visit. Please come 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. If you prefer to fill out the intake health form beforehand, just give us a call and we can email it to you. Once filled out, you can email it back or print it and bring it with you during your first appointment.

Will the physiotherapist do an exam at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, our physiotherapist will do a full assessment along with the treatment when you come in for your session.

How long will my first appointment take?

The first session can be anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes depending on your condition or injury.

Pediatric Chiropractic

Will I need to complete paperwork for this service?

Yes, A parent or legal guardian will need to fill out the intake form for a pediatric patient, and come in for the appointment with the patient.

Will the chiropractor perform an exam at first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, our chiropractor will perform a full assessment and physical exam. A detailed medical and surgical history will be collected as well. This information helps our chiropractor to create a diagnosis and treatment plan.

How long will the first appointment take?

The initial appointment will be between 30 minutes to 45 minutes.

Will you adjust my child on their first visit?

Yes, our chiropractor provides treatment on the initial visit.

How will you put them at ease if they are nervous?

Kids are often anxious about doctor’s visits. Our chiropractor uses simple, non-invasive examinations and diagnostic testing. The treatment is safe and effective. You are welcome to bring your kids favourite toy or stuffed animal to help your kid during the appointment.

Pregnancy Chiropractic

Will the chiropractor do an exam at my first appointment? If yes, what kind?

Yes, our chiropractor will do a full assessment along with the treatment on your first visit. It is important that you inform your chiropractor if you have any medical condition or are taking any medication.

How long will my first appointment take?

The initial visit is approximately 45 minutes long.

How often should I come in during my pregnancy?

The number of sessions per week depends on your condition. Your chiropractor will discuss your treatment plan with you after doing a full assessment. One of the chiropractor’s is certified in the Websters technique. The Webster Technique is a specific chiropractic sacral analysis and diversified adjustment. The goal of the adjustment is to reduce the effects of sacral subluxation/ SI joint dysfunction.

Shockwave Therapy

Who provides shockwave therapy?

Both our chiropractor and physiotherapist provide shockwave therapy service.

How does Shockwave therapy help?

The benefits of shockwave therapy are endless. Besides relieving pain, this treatment can break apart adhesions and scar tissue, increase blood flow to the injured area, speed up the body’s healing response time, and help control muscle spasms.
